 Rain East Common

The last week of August 2015 has been wet and stormy with heavy  rain  falling on East common and the rest of the St Albans district This has caused havoc with gutter systems as the heavy rain has washed debris down into the gutters and outlets. We have been on hand to help people resolve these problems. In the majority of cases we have arrived at the scene soon after the customer called and cleared things up immediately. We are constantly upgrading our service so that we can resolve all issues that arise due to blocked gutters and down pipes, This includes the acquisition of the latest equipment so that debris can be sucked out of the offending areas leaving the rain water to flow as it should into the down pipe to the drain or soak away.

 

Harpenden Classics on the common 2015

What a great day for the event organised by Harpenden village Rotry Club. Harpenden classics on the common 2015 has grown into Britain’s biggest midweek classic car meeting. Once again there was a great turnout. The weather payed its part as as crowds enjoyed an afternoon of bright sunshine on the common. People arrived in their thousands on to Harpenden Common to view the spectacular array of some 1200 classic cars, scooters and motorbikes at the 22nd annual Classics on the Common

 

There was a number of very interesting vehicles including a Stanley Steamer from 1914/16, overall  everyone had such a good time and a great deal of money was raised for charity. This made the day even more of a success . All the hard work put in by the volunteers paid of  making it an event to remember

Last year’s show, raised £30,000 for charities including Keech Hospice Care and Herts Action on Disability. While the show is free to visitors donations are appreciated. Money raised this year will be split between local charities Community Meeting Point Harpenden, Youth Talk, national charities Alzheimer’s Society, Macmillan .and the International Guildford Rotary Eye Project

All in  all the way that we clean you windows has become incredibly popular. The fact that we can clean in a traditional way with modern products means that the result is superior.

Harpenden Gutter repair

We were called out by one of our regular customers to look at a Harpenden Gutter repair job on a luxury apartment in Kirkwick Avenue. The work had to be carried out at roof level at quite a height. We were able to dismantle the gutter and remove the rotten woodwork. After measuring up we then went back to the workshop and put together a made to measure box; a replacement for the rotted woodwork. With that done we returned to the apartment with the box and new gutter parts and rebuilt the gable end finishing with three coats of paint. All this was achieved in half a day. The final test was to run a stream of water from the roof to make sure that everything was flowing in the right direction with no leaks. All was working well. As you can see from the photo the end result was very satisfactory and able to be completed without the use of costly scaffolding.

Always on call

We are always on call to clean and repair blocked and broken gutters and usually respond to calls straight away. In this case after discussing requirements with owner we were proceed immediately with one more Harpenden gutter repair.

Harpenden classics on the Common, Wednesday, 30th July 2014

 

A great day out for all the family Harpenden classics on the Common, Wednesday, 30th July 2014 is an annual event that draws in classic vehicles from miles around. Many sought after examples of vintage cars can be found on the East Common in Harpenden every July.

The event is well organised  and there are plenty of amenities in in the area to make it a day to enjoy.

There is a Waitrose store close buy in case you need to stock up for a picnic in Rothamstead park. There is also a newly refurbished Sainsburys store with plenty of parking available.

Centre point Windows

 

Centre point Windows at the Paramount Restaurant in central London give a brilliant 360 degree view of London. on a clear day you can see all the major attractions up or down river, including Tower Bridge and the houses of Parliament. The windows must be cleaned from time to time but this is one job that Harpenden Window cleaning has left to inhouse staff. It is still a good place to relax if you are passing by Tottenham Court Road. Its a quick elevator ride to the thirty second floor. There you can have a meal or just a drink and admire the view from the gallery. The staff are very friendly and there is a great atmosphere. All in all an interesting place to visit with friends at the weekend.
